Rationale


The Convergence shall work towards strengthening peace-building and sustain the same in Davao del Norte, specially on economically poor, socially under-served, and environmentally challenged communities. The partnership shall bring in the PLGU’s resources to target areas with the assistance of all interested NGAs involved in the economic, social, security, and environmental sectors.

This joint peace-building efforts  shall be anchored on President Aquino’s agenda for promotion of human development, security, and social capital formation;

This is also in pursuit of Governor Rodolfo P. del Rosario’s PEOPLE agenda, highlighting people’s participation and  empowerment ;

Concretely, this convergence shall be made to widen people’s access to basic social services, promotion of good governance, adoption of community-driven goals,  respect for human rights and distinct cultural identities, leading to the attainment of sustainable peace in Davao del Norte.








Goal:


Socio-economic upliftment of the community through peace and development



Objectives:


  • To promote peace through development in depressed communities within the period 2011-2013;
  • To converge the projects, programs and activities of the different  stakeholders within 6 months.
  • To promote people’s cooperation, involvement and commitment from conceptualization to the implementation of PPA’s for CY 2011-2013.
